Petronas Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
The Petronas Twin Towers (or in malay or Menara Berkembar Petronas) are the most important monument of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The towers were the tallest buildings in the world from their completion in 1998 until the erection of Taipei 101 in 2004. They still remain the tallest twin building in the world.
Designed by Argentine architect César Pelli, the 88-floor Twin Towers stand proudly in Kuala Lumpur’s Central Business District. The structure rising at 378.6 meters is probably the most photographed building in Malaysia. I have been lucky enough to get a shot with the moon shining right in between the two towers and under the skybridge connecting the structure. If you want to enjoy the view from the skybridge, go early morning at the counter to get free tickets to this area. Don’t be late, they are taken very fast.
At the base of the Petronas Towers, you can find the Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur’s premier shopping center and the lovely KLCC Park, from which you can take the best pics of the Towers. Say “cheeeeeeese” !
